Description:
Manjushri Bodhisattva (Sanskrit: Mañjuśrī), also known as Manjushri Bodhisattva or Wonderful Auspicious Bodhisattva, is one of the four great bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism, representing great wisdom (prajna). He is revered as the head of all bodhisattvas and the teacher of all Buddhas. He is often paired with Samantabhadra Bodhisattva as the attendants of Shakyamuni Buddha, collectively known as the "Three Saints of the Avatamsaka Sutra."

Origin: Manjushri Bodhisattva attained Buddhahood countless eons ago. In past lives, he was known as "Dragon Seed Supreme King Buddha" or "Great Body Tathagata." In his present life, he is "Joyful Treasury Mani Jewel Accumulation Buddha" of the Northern Joyful World, and in his future life, he will become "Universal Manifestation Tathagata." Classical texts (such as the *Śūraṅgama Samādhi Sūtra* and the *Angulimāra Sūtra*) record that he is the teacher of all Buddhas of the three times (the teacher of seven Buddhas), and that he descended to earth as a Bodhisattva to assist Shakyamuni Buddha in propagating the Dharma and liberating sentient beings. His birth was marked by ten auspicious signs (such as a room filled with light and seven treasures emerging from the earth). He was born into a Brahmin family in Shravasti. Mount Wutai in Shanxi, China, is considered his sacred site (Qingliang Mountain), and is revered by both Han and Tibetan Buddhism.

The standard implements held by Manjushri Bodhisattva are:

- Right hand: Wisdom sword (flaming sword), symbolizing the cutting off of ignorance and afflictions, and the dispelling of delusion.

- Left hand: Blue lotus flower, upon which rests the *Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra* (or a Sanskrit text), symbolizing pure and undefiled supreme wisdom.

- Head always adorned with five topknots (representing the five wisdoms), riding a blue lion (symbolizing the power and majesty of wisdom).

In Tibetan Buddhism, five-topped Manjushri or various emanations (such as Yellow Manjushri and Black Manjushri) are commonly seen, holding similar implements, and there is no specific "treasure vase" as Manjushri Bodhisattva's signature implement. The "treasure vase" (Tibetan: bum pa, also known as the wealth vase or auspicious vase) is one of the eight auspicious objects in Tibetan Buddhism, symbolizing auspiciousness, abundance, and longevity. It is commonly seen held by Avalokiteshvara, Amitabha Buddha, or the God of Wealth, and is also used in empowerments, offerings, or as an earth vase (buried in the ground to restore energy). Manjushri's implements emphasize the "cutting" and "illumination" of wisdom, rather than the "nourishing" or "nectar" connotations of the vase.

How to Properly Offer Offerings to Manjushri: Offering to Manjushri aims to pray for wisdom, increased eloquence, and the elimination of ignorance. It is suitable for students, those engaged in mental work, or those seeking academic success. Common methods:

- **Offerings**: Fresh flowers (especially lotus), incense, lamps, fruit, and clean water (symbolizing purity). Wisdom sword-shaped implements or scriptures can also be offered.

- **Mantra Recitation**: The heart mantra "Om A Ra Pa Ca Na Dhih" can enhance memory, eloquence, and wisdom.

- **Practice:** Recite the "Praise to Manjushri" and the "Root Manjushri Mantra" daily, or visualize the image of Manjushri Bodhisattva. Sincere prayer before exams will bring blessings.

- **Mandala Offering:** Set up a Manjushri Bodhisattva image at home in a clean place, offer incense and lamps morning and evening, and avoid meat.

In Tibetan Buddhism, one can participate in Manjushri ceremonies or receive mantra empowerments, emphasizing sincerity rather than formality.

**Meaning and Influence in Tibetan Buddhism:** Manjushri Bodhisattva is extremely important in Tibetan Buddhism (Vajrayana), regarded as a wisdom deity (yidam). Many emanations exist, such as Yamantaka (the wrathful form of Manjushri, used to subdue death). Meaning:

- Represents prajna wisdom, capable of dispelling ignorance and illuminating emptiness.

- The five tufts symbolize the five wisdoms of the five Buddhas, and the sword flame symbolizes the fire of wisdom burning away afflictions.

Profound Influence: King Trisong Detsen, Sakya Pandita, and Tsongkhapa (founder of the Gelug school) are considered emanations of Manjushri. Tibetan Buddhism emphasizes the Manjushri practice for rapid enlightenment and increased eloquence, and it is practiced extensively in the Nyingma, Kagyu, Sakya, and Gelug schools. Practicing Manjushri helps practitioners realize their true nature and subdue obstacles, playing a central role in the philosophy and esoteric traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

If the "Manjushri Vase" you are referring to is a variant image from a specific Dharma assembly or thangka (such as certain offering vases related to Manjushri), it may be an extension of the Manjushri treasure vase offering; please provide more details! May Manjushri bless you and increase your wisdom.

Note: This item is completely dedicated and sealed. It should not be opened. If opened, the dedication of the vase is lost and its magnetic properties are dispelled.
