Narration:
Green Tara is an important Bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism. She is considered to be one of the incarnations of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and the main deity of the Twenty-Two Tara Mothers. Her name means "Mother of Speed and Courage to Save" because she can quickly save all living beings and eliminate eight kinds of difficulties, namely, lions, elephants, snakes, fire, water, ghosts, thieves and evil kings. Disaster. Her color is green, which symbolizes the vitality and hope of life. She holds a blue lotus in her right hand and a wish seal in her left hand. She sits on a white lotus and a moon wheel.
There are many legends about the origin of Green Tara. One of them is that she was transformed from the tears of Guanyin Bodhisattva's right eye. The other is that she was an ancient Indian princess named Yeshibao who aspired to become a god. She is a Bodhisattva, but some people advised her to practice in a male body, but she said: "In the nature of supreme Bodhi, there is no distinction between men and women. I want to realize supreme Bodhi in a female body. In order to benefit all sentient beings, I want to Eternally manifested in female form." So she practiced and achieved the Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya and Incarnation of Green Tara.
Green Tara has many deeds, the most famous of which is that she once saved a great siddha named Atisha, who was imprisoned because he was persecuted by the evil king. Green Tara appeared in In front of him, she used her light to open the prison door, allowing him to escape. Atisha later became the founder of Tibetan Buddhism and taught the teachings of Green Tara to many disciples. Green Tara has also helped many other great virtues and believers, such as Padmasambhava, Atisha's disciple Naropa, and Sakya Pandita, the founder of the Sakya sect. Green Tara's teachings are widely spread in Tibetan Buddhism, especially in the Nyingma and Sakya sects, where she is regarded as one of the most important deities.
