In Tibetan Buddhism, the Five Wealth Gods (the Five Surnames of Wealth Gods) are gods in charge of wealth and blessings. They originated from Kubera in ancient India. Later, through the inheritance of Tantric Buddhism, they gradually evolved into five wealth gods of different colors and combined with the concept of the Five Buddhas.
**Origin of the Five Gods of Wealth**
The belief in the Five Gods of Wealth originated in India. The earliest image of the God of Wealth came from Kubera, who is the god of wealth in Indian mythology and is in charge of treasure and blessings. With the development of Tantric Buddhism, the belief in the God of Wealth was incorporated into the Buddhist system and evolved into five different colored gods of wealth in Tibetan Buddhism, corresponding to the Five Buddhas, symbolizing different wealth and blessings.
**Types and symbols of the Five Gods of Wealth**
1. Yellow God of Wealth (Zangbala Xiebo)
- Manages wealth and can free sentient beings from poverty.

- Legend has it that he once protected Sakyamuni Buddha in the **Lingjiu Mountain** and preached the Dharma, and dispelled demonic obstacles.
2. White God of Wealth (the incarnation of Avalokitesvara)

- Legend: It was created by the compassion of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva to help sentient beings escape poverty.
3. Red God of Wealth (Goddess of Wealth)
- Responsible for popularity, wealth and food.

5. **Green God of Wealth** (Kalachakra Tantra)
