Product Introduction

Material: Cloth. Printing. Scroll. (Vajrasattva)

Size: Approx. 122 x 83 cm

Description:
The main figure in this thangka is **Vajrasattva** in a "standing" form, also known as **Standing Vajrasattva**.

Identification is based on the following:

1. **Hand seal and instruments**: He crosses his hands in front of his chest, holding a vajra in his right hand and a ghanta in his left hand. This is a typical Vajrasattva hand seal and instrument configuration, symbolizing **the combination of wisdom and convenience**.

2. **Body color and decoration**: Vajrasattva's body is white with gold, showing purity. He wears a five-buddha crown, Bodhisattva ornaments, and a necklace around his waist, indicating that he is a great Bodhisattva.
3. **Footstepping on the lotus**: He stands on a blooming lotus, indicating detachment and purity.
4. **Background and Buddha statue above**: A Buddha (mostly Amitabha or Sakyamuni Buddha) sits on the upper right side of the picture, symbolizing that Vajrasattva is derived from the Buddha's lineage.
5. **Surrounding environment**: The flowing stream and blooming lotus symbolize the state of purity and blessing, echoing Vajrasattva's **identity as the main deity for repentance and purification of karma**.

Introduction to Vajrasattva:

Vajrasattva is an extremely important bodhisattva in Tantra and is regarded as the epitome of all Vajrayana (Tantra) lineages. He represents the power of "purifying karma and sins" and is the core deity of the practice of the Hundred-Syllable Mantra repentance method.

In Tibetan Buddhism, the practice of Vajrasattva is an important foundation before entering the Tantra practice (one of the four preliminary practices), which can purify adverse conditions and obstacles and increase merit and wisdom.
