In Tibetan Buddhism, Black Wealth God is regarded as an incarnation of Mahākāla, the wrathful form of Avalokitesvara. It is said that Mahakala was originally a demon with boundless magical powers, but was later influenced by Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and became a deity who upholds Buddhism and protects practitioners.
