Medicine Buddha (also known as Medicine Buddha Glazed Light Tathagata, Medicine Buddha who eliminates disasters and prolongs life) enjoys a lofty status in Tibetan Buddhism. The following are some of the deeds and origins of Medicine Buddha:

1. **Image**: The image of Medicine Buddha is usually with conch hair on its head, its body is like glass, and its whole body exudes a calm and stable blue light. His left hand holds a medicine bowl, which is filled with nectar and wonderful medicine, and his right hand holds a myrobalan, which can cure all diseases and pain in the world, give people immeasurable light, wisdom, merit, and extend life¹².

2. **Twelve Great Vows**: Medicine Buddha made twelve great vows during his past life as a Bodhisattva. One of them was a compassionate wish that all sentient beings would have no shortage of materials necessary for their lives. Therefore, if we can make offerings to Medicine Master Tathagata with reverence, or recite the holy name of Medicine Master Buddha, we can stay away from all poverty and live a life of wealth, abundance and peace.
