Text states that the wood for the Gesar Whip should be either of bamboo or sandalwood - the red or white variety, or of teak. But according to the text “The Prayer that Removes All Obstacles from the Path” the Great Master Padmasambhava, “Your left hand holds a kīla of teak, Granting protection to your devoted sons and daughters” the handle is made from teak. Inside the upper part of the hollow wood is the mantra of the “Three Roots (Lama, Yidam, Khandro)”, the mantra of the Conquerer of Enemies King Gesar written in ink made from the mixture of five precious gems. The lower part of the hollow has the rolled up mantra of the Goddess of the Turquoise Lamp, Yudronma. The outside of the Whip is the third precious metal, copper adorned with gold. The handle has five-coloured strings that are woven. Consecration and the prayers to bless it was done for at least seven days. In the tradition that I follow saying King Gesar’s mantra regularly helps fulfilll whatever one aspires without any issues. However, I have done the consecration and the meditative practices on the Whip strictly according to the text.
EMPOWERING THE HORSE-WHIP ACCORDING TO KING GESAR
1. PREPARATION OF THE WHIP
A bamboo with three nodes, or any other auspicious wood, can be used to make the horse whip. It’s handle should be an attractive one and should be covered at the tips. However, before it is enclosed, the inside should be filled with silver on which should be inscribed the following mantra, in either gold, silver or regular ink:
OM AH HUNG HRI MAHA RINI SARA TSA HRI YA SARVA KARMA SIDDHI HUNG OM MAHA SINGHA MANI RAZA SARVA ARTHA SIDDHI HUNG AH
HA HAH HEE HEEH HE HEH HO MA MA BE ZE YE SIDDHI HUNG
Or, if one prefers, mantras of the Lama, Yidam, Khandro or Protective deities could be written as well. However, it’ll suffice even if nothing is inscribed.
The whip’s handle should be tied with five-coloured cloths. It could be embellished with any jewel or other adornments. This concludes the initial preparation of the horse whip.
2. REALIZATION AND EMPOWERING OF THE WHIP
Place the Whip amidst white grains surrounded by various offerings. Cleanse and purify everything. If necessary, offer incenses. Cleanse with the ultimate nature of emptiness. Out of emptiness, visualize from the syllable BRUM the base of the whip is made from diamond with five heads embodied by syllable HUNG; the middle section is formed by the precious octagonal wish-fulfilling tree symbolized by syllable AH; and the top is made of a flaming lapis lazuli wish fulfilling jewel exemplified by a white OM. The handle strap is made of precious five-coloured iridescent jewel indicated by syllable SAVA. The strap itself is made up of cords composed of eight precious strings braided into a bright eight-coloured square representing all the resplendent enlightened. activities symbolized by a green HA. Just by remembering it, sends a shower of blessings to fulfilll all aspirations. May all the blessings from the “Life-Stones” of the Warrior-gods, Mother-deities, dakinis, and the samaya-bound protectors transform the Whip into an object of accomplishment.
OM AH HUNG SVAHA (Recite 7 times)
Visualize the syllable BRUM - inside the Whip - to transform into a palace of every desire. In the centre of this citadel are the Three Roots and the assemblage of all the oath-bound protectors. In particular, rays of light from the wisdom deities - symbolizing the three syllables - emanating from the three abodes of King Gesar and his entire retinue of courageous warriors and mystical maidens - dissolve into the Whip.
OM BENZA GURU DEVA DAKINI DHARMAPALA MANI RAZA SAPARI WARA BENZA SAMAYA ZA ZAHUM BAM HO (Recite 3 times and visualize it dissolving into the Whip).
Make offerings and recite words of praise. The rays of lights from the deities and from the messengers of the divine architects radiate into the Whip - and to every corner of the universe. Whatever one desires is bestowed. The outcome of any acts of the four sublime activities of pacification, enrichment, magnetization, and subjugation are guaranteed. In fact, visualize that one not only prevails over every hurdle but also that the guarantee of success is assured.
Bless by reciting hundred times the above two mantras successively.
If one really wants to consummate the above practice, then the first mantra needs to be recited as many times as possible until the signs appear. The signs thereof can be that the Whip will move on its own, or it may be warm to the touch, or light up into a flame, or various sounds and rainbow lights arising on its own. Should these appear then just holding the Whip bestows whatever one desires. In short, one has to visualize that the Whip has become inseparable from the deities and that it is the very essence of the nature of the great snow lion. Hence, just by holding and waving it brings about the accomplishment of every aspiration - without any difficulty.
Recite thrice the mantras of the “Firmly Supported” and the “Essence of Causation”. Then consecrate the Whip. Following which the prayers of auspiciousness needs to be recited subsequently.
3. APPLICATION
if one is never apart from the Whip, all obstacles are not only cleared away but one is blessed with auspiciousness and success in everything. In particular, whenever one needs to accomplish something, just shake the Whip in the direction of one’s objectives, recite the mantras and meditate. One is then protected from any and all obstacles and bestowed with success.
Just the act of shaking the Whip will clear rainfall or storms or any other threats caused by the elements. As well, evil perpetrators and omens are all pacified. If one so desires to enthrall and magnetize regions and beings therein then one needs to append the following mantra to the above mantras:
SARVA LOKA AKSHAYAZA WASHAM KURU HO
If done this way then visualize that the Dakinis of the four-activities and the protective deities and their warrior messengers envelope the whole universe in redness which dissolve into the soles of one’s feet thereby in whichever direction one waves the Whip all expanses and beings therein will be subdued. Even when enemy forces are ready to attack, the very act of casting the Whip towards them will accomplish whatever subjugating or destructive thoughts one might have. By swinging the Whip in the direction of where agitations are caused - through conflicts, quarrels et al - and keeping it in your possession, will lead to your triumph. In short, it is absolutely certain that by waving the Whip and reciting the mantras alone will fulfil all your wishes! Guhya (Sealed)
