Narrative:
The Buddha of Longevity (Amitayus), also known as the Buddha of Infinite Life (Amitayus Buddha), is the manifestation of "Amitabha" or the Buddha of Infinite Light. He is the main deity in the west among the "Five Buddhas" of the Lotus Division. In the Garbha-dhatu, it is called "Amitābha", and in the Vajra-dhatu, it is called "Amitabha". "Amitābha" means countless, vast and boundless. It is another form of the Dharmakaya Amitabha Buddha presented as the Sambhogakaya Buddha. The Amitayus has one head and two arms. His body is red, his hair is tied into a bun, and he wears a five-Buddha crown. He is dressed in celestial clothes, a silk skirt, and a jeweled necklace. He has all the ornaments of a reward body Buddha. His hands are in the meditation mudra on his knees, with a longevity vase placed in his hands. His feet are seated in vajra double-cross-legged position on a lotus moon disc.
The Buddha of Longevity is in charge of the demons and the god of death that are feared by all living beings, and protects all sentient beings to attain freedom. Together with White Tara and Vajrayogini, they are collectively known as the Three Deities of Longevity. The Buddha of Longevity is surrounded by the four Dakinis of pacifying, increasing, attracting and destroying, in order to summon the five essences, life span, blessings and wisdom.
If people in this world do not have good health and longevity, they cannot achieve success in their careers; nor can they complete their practice. Therefore, life span is very important for both ordinary people and practitioners. Practicing the Dharma of Longevity Buddha can prolong one's life and increase one's blessings, virtue and wisdom. When sentient beings encounter obstacles such as untimely death, premature death or accidental death, they can only rely on the Dharma of the Longevity Buddha to eliminate these obstacles. If you offer various offerings and perform rituals before the mandala of the Amitayus Buddha, not only will your career grow smoothly in this life, but you will also receive the Amitayus Buddha's special blessings. Because the Amitayus and Amitabha Buddha are originally the same deities, if people can accept the teachings or empowerment from a qualified master, and diligently practice the ritual of the mantra of praising the Amitayus, they can not only eliminate the dangers and obstacles in their lives, such as death from illness, accidental death and other evil obstacles, but also avoid various diseases and sufferings, eliminate all worldly setbacks and gain longevity. If their lifespan is over, they can also extend their worldly lifespan, increase their blessings and wisdom, make their bodies healthy, prolong their lifespan, avoid unexpected disasters such as untimely death, premature death, and sudden death, and eliminate all sins from beginningless time, destroy the ten evils, four grave sins, and five heinous sins, all sins and obstacles will be eliminated, their body and mind will be at peace, and they will be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Bliss at the end of their lives.
