Product Introduction

Material: Cloth. Printing. Scroll. (Manjusri Bodhisattva)

Size: Approximately 122 x 83 cm

Description:

The main figure in this thangka is Manjusri Bodhisattva (Tibetan: འཇམ་དབྱངས་, Sanskrit: Mañjuśrī), who appears as a standing Bodhisattva.

The identification is as follows:

1. Both hands are in the Dharmachakra mudrā in front of the chest (the index fingers and thumbs of both hands are twisted together, and the other fingers are crossed): This is the Dharmachakra mudrā, which is a common hand seal of Manjusri Bodhisattva, symbolizing the transmission of wisdom.

2. The body color is golden yellow: It symbolizes wisdom, brightness and perfection of merit.

3. Wearing a five-buddha crown and a Bodhisattva costume: It shows that it is the image of a great Bodhisattva.

4. **Both shoulders hold a lotus**. The left lotus usually has a **wisdom sword**, and the right lotus usually has a **prajna Sutra**. However, in this thangka, the symbolism may be more implicit or not yet developed, depending on the painting style.

5. **Standing on the lotus platform**, standing in the peaceful land and water, surrounded by clouds, flying birds and deer (symbolizing the peaceful and tranquil teaching realm of Buddhism).

6. **The Buddha in the upper right corner of the picture**: It is Sakyamuni Buddha, symbolizing that the wisdom of Buddha is passed on to Manjushri Bodhisattva.

Introduction to Manjushri Bodhisattva:

Manjushri Bodhisattva is the incarnation of **wisdom**. He has a very high status in Tibetan Buddhism and Chinese Buddhism and is the head of the wisdom of all Buddhas. The wisdom sword he holds can cut off ignorance and troubles, and the "Prajna Sutra" he holds symbolizes the wisdom of ultimate emptiness.

In Tibetan Buddhism, practicing the method of Manjushri Bodhisattva can increase **wisdom, eloquence and enlightenment ability**, which is especially suitable for students, monks and practitioners.
